Mike has a diverse background in estimating and managing projects. He is responsible for various types of projects including government work, hospitals, data centers, clean and dirty water projects along with airport and roadway infrastructure projects.

Mike’s diverse background in private and public sector projects gives him the expertise to review all estimates. His preconstruction expertise helps maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency to help ensure that estimates reflect the true scope of the project.

His team takes a very proactive approach to the use of technology for both the office and field to help improve safety, productivity and communication.

Expertise

Mike has more than 35 years of industry experience. Mike worked as a summer helper and draftsman at a large electrical shop during high school and college. After graduating, he worked as a project manager and estimator for an electrical contractor doing government, hospital and industrial projects.

Mike joined Gibson in 1998. In addition to his ongoing management responsibilities, he has held positions within the company as preconstruction manager, project executive and division manager.

Holder of a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and a minor in business administration, Mike studied at Iowa State University.
